Certificate number : is the 5 digit number, following E9M shown top left on your Certificate of Insurance.

Transaction number : is the transaction reference starting with M, shown in bold in the first paragraph on your Certificate of Insurance.

Trip length option : There is an option for either 31 days or 90 days maximum for any one trip. The quotation will default to that of the previous insurance unless you select differently here.

Pre-existing conditions : The insurance continues not to cover pre-existing conditions of those travelling and or anyone on whose health the start or continuation of a trip may depend.

Cover for cancellation : is effective from the start date of the annual period (not from the certificate issue date as for single trip insurance).

Age limits : apply as at the annual period commencement date. Adults must be aged under 71 (previously, it was under 66). There is a new age band 65 to 70. For families, up to 6 dependant children aged under 17 can be included - (6 at the same cost as for 1).

Annual Insurance Renewal Procedure

Enter your Certificate number and Transaction reference above. On the next page, a quote is given based on your insurance from the previous year. And, you can continue with this, or there are the options for changing geographical area, adding or excluding cover, changing persons to be insured, so that you can adjust the cover to your requirements for the forthcoming year.

There is also a summary of the Policy changes that have occurred since your previous or existing certificate.

On accepting a quote, you go to a page for confirming or amending the name and ages of insureds, your home address, etc., which defaults to the details given in your previous or existing certificate.

Limits 31 and 90 days : No extension is allowed to the maximim limits of 31 or 90 days for any one trip. There is no limit on the number of trips, but you must return to your home address for at least one day between trips.

Travel : adults, if two insured, may travel independently. Children are not covered to take a trip independently of an adult insured, although in some circumstances discounted cover for this can be arranged by contacting us.

Cover for Trekking over 4000m

Altitude trekking to the maximum altitude of 4000m is covered under the policy already. Up to 1500m is classed as a Holiday Activity. From 1500m to 4000m is classed as a Medium Risk activity.

Cover may be extended for trekking over 4000m on referral to our underwriters with certain details of the trek and confirmation of your good health.

There is no extra charge for cover for trekking over 4000m. Therefore, if extended cover is agreed for a particular trek an endorsemnet is added to your certificate of insurance to that effect.

Cover for Parachuting or Skydiving

Cover for parachuting or skydiving can be added after insurance has been taken out or renewed.

Therefore the quote that you will receive next does not include this cover, and it cannot be added at the quote stage.

Immediately after renewal, or any time later up to 24 hours before participating, you can go to the page to arrange addition cover on a daily basis, at the cost of GBP4.00 or EUR4.00 per day.

Parachuting and skydiving are covered under section (U) of the policy. Participating in USA is not covered.
The day, or sequence of days booked, need be only those when you will be participating. When you have paid, an endorsement is issued giving details and stating where you will be participating, and your certificate of insurance is updated accordingly.

If you realise in advance that you will be unable to participate, you can request credit for a day or sequence of days.
